Students with a case of the sniffles may soon be able to find a remedy for their ills on campus.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is working on a resolution that will approve a health clinic to open shop on campus. The project is in the planning stages, but those involved said that not only is a health clinic "conceivable," but it could open within the next 2 years.

I began to remember an instance when I was a younger, in which I got in a verbal dispute with a neighbor kid that ended with me getting clonked over the head with a golf club.

I've been attending Augusta State University for longer than I would like to divulge, and I've never fully understood why we don't have a health clinic.

OK, so I know what the arguments are, and once upon a time, those arguments were valid. Yes, we are technically a commuter campus, and yes, the majority of students here actually live in Augusta, and aren't just here for school, so they probably have their own physician.

A public restroom can be a scary place, primarily because people do not treat them like it's their own. Yet, why is it that if restrooms are so germ-infested, do countless people not wash their hands after using the facilities?

If you ask me, it's disgusting, not to mention a disservice to the rest of us that actually do care about personal hygiene.
