“Collectively and as individuals, you will guide the directionof our country.”

Welcome back to campus!Over the next few months, you willhave the opportunity to stake a claim inwhat will perhaps prove to be the mostpivotal presidential election in our nation’shistory. For many of you, this willbe your first chance to vote for the Presidentof the United States of America, and,for others, perhaps a chance to look backupon your vote four years ago and the directionour nation has taken since 2008.

I would like to encourage each of youto take an active and engaged approachto this year’s election cycle. Whether youget involved with a political organizationon campus, host an on-campus voter registrationdrive, volunteer for a campaignaround town or simply lend an ear to acandidate, you can make a profound differenceon your campus and across thegreat State of Georgia.

As college students in today’s economicclimate, you are facing an increasinglyunclear future. Few students leavefor college with dreams of moving back inwith their parents four years later, scouringthe employment ads and strugglingto pay down debt. This is today’s reality, though; I implore you to stand for a better future.

The silver lining, however, is that youhave a voice to be heard. Collectively andas individuals, you will guide the directionof our country.

Register to vote by Tuesday, October9. Vote on Tuesday, November 6. Celebrateon Monday, January 21 as we inauguratethe next President of the UnitedStates of America.

You are the future, and your time isnow.
